Background
The Komi Republic is a strategic partner of Gazprom. The Republic hosts construction of unique facilities comprising the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta and Ukhta – Torzhok gas trunkline systems (GTS).
In 2008 Gazprom and the Komi Republic Government inked the Partnership Agreement for the period of the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta GTS construction in 2009–2012 and the Gasification Accord.
At present, Gazprom is constructing gas supply facilities of the Syktyvkar industrial hub and upgrading the Ukhtinskaya, Vuktylskaya, Mikunskaya and Sindorskaya compressor stations in the Komi Republic. Construction of the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta, Ukhta – Torzhok and SRTO – Torzhok GTS is underway.
Between 2006 and 2010 Gazprom invested RUB 653 million in the gasification of the Komi Republic. These funds were used to build seven inter-settlement gas pipelines that increased the regional gasification level by 2.4 per cent – up to 43.8 per cent. The identical figure throughout Russia averages 63.1 per cent. This year Gazprom will allocate RUB 30 million to complete the previously launched gasification facilities in the Republic.
