On April 29, 2003 LOMO PLC will grant new device - bronchoscope - to Neirosurgery scientific and research institute named after A.L. Polenov. This device will join to its older "brother", which operates at the institute for record time - 11 years.

   Institute employees have known from the media that LOMO has proposed the program of refitting out of St. Petersburg medicine organizations by new medicine technique. In the capacity of gift optical enterprise is ready to redeem 162 out-of-date and not operating endoscopes and to supply medicine organizations with new devices in return for old for special privileged prices.

   Institute named after A.L. Polenov wasn't included to this program because this is a medical organization of the federal level. However, its employees addressed to LOMO with request of giving new device. You know it's very important for doctors' work to have qualitative technique both for neirosurgery and for endoscopic purposes.

   LOMO didn't leave indifferent to needs of neirosurgery institute. Besides, it's turned out that this institute has been already using for 11 years bronchoscope BVO-2, produced by LOMO, without any repair. Such a long time of operating of medicine technique is a unique event. The record was made thanks to right operating of this device. Doctors use bronchoscope quiet intensively.

   By means of this "record-holder" doctors conduct three or four bronchoscopy per day. Till recent time the device served patients of two more medicine organizations. Employees of the institute named after A.L. Polenov took with themselves bronchoscope to consultations at Leningrad region, and all the way the device was at the luggage-rack of the car. It's possible to say that it is not an "indoor" device, but "fighting", went through fire and water.

   Taking into consideration these circumstances top-management of LOMO decided to present Neirosurgery institute with new bronchoscope BVO-3-1 with lightening and complex of tools.  Nowadays this device as its "older comrade" will help doctors to make their important and responsible mission - to save lives and safe health of people.

   Surely, sooner or later the moment, when the "record-holder" BVO-2 comes down from the distance, will come. When it happens this bronchoscope will be passed to the Museum of LOMO as a symbol of irreproachable work of devices of optical enterprise for the welfare of people.
