The major market of "GAZ" vehicles sales is Russia and neighboring foreign countries: Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia and others. So in the year 2002 28 623 "GAZ" vehicles of the whole model range were sold to CIS: passenger cars, trucks, minibuses, special purpose vehicles.. Compared to the year 2002 volume of sales to CIS amounted to 102%.
9 047 autokits were sent to plants of Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
In the year 2004 Gorky automobile plant plans to sell to CIS 39 445 vahicles and autokits.
For the last year JSC "GAZ" specialists carried out a big volume of work aimed at expansion of vehicles to the countries of Eastern Europe: Poland, Chezh Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania and Romania. There Gorky automobile plant intends to sell vehicles with "Andoria-4 CY 90" diesel engine (Poland) meeting requirements of ecological safety "Euro-3". In the second half of the year 2003 East European dealers sold 500 "Sobol" range vehicles, which were assembled at assembly plant in "Rokishkis" (Lithuania) . Dealers confirmed their application for sales of 2 520 vehicles of various models in 2004.
Besides, vehicles manufactured in Nizhny Novgorod were delivered to distant foreign countries to the areas traditional for JSC "GAZ" - Africa and Latin America. About 900 of "GAZ" vehicles were sold there. Also according to terms and conditions of a contract 432 "Volga" GAZ-3110 passenger cars were dispatched to Iraq in December 2003.
