The Elektrogorsk Research and Engineering Center for Nuclear Power Plants Safety (JSC ENITS, a company of JSC Atomenergoprom) has completed a series of tests on the actual steam generator unit of the SMART-P nuclear reactor (South Korea). The works were ordered by DOOSAN Heavy Industry (South Korea) and performed at ENITS, which has the unique equipment required for these purposes. Following the completion of the tests, the steam generator will be deployed at South Korean nuclear power facilities.

The tests were performed in the period of 2005-2009 at the specially designed test bench. In total, the unit passed 100 test modes for thermohydraulic properties in steady-state operating conditions and 1750 thermal cycling tests. Test data were collected, processed and displayed in real time. The test routine included thermohydraulic analysis and thermal cycling tests within the range of the steam generator's rated parameters. All experiments were personally monitored by representatives of the steam generator manufacturer - DOOSAN Heavy Industry (South Korea). The results were accepted by the customer in full.
