Moscow, 30 January 2004 – RUSAL, one of the world’s largest aluminium companies, announced that its Bratsk aluminium smelter (BrAZ) has initiated production of T-shape and small-sized ingots from the A380.1-grade aluminium alloy for the US automotive industry.
The first 3,000 tonnes were produced in January, with the expectation that monthly capacity will reach 5,000 tons/monthly by March. Actual production will depend on the market structure and physical demand.
RUSAL also clarified that the product line is intended for deliveries satisfying the North American LME NASAAC contract.
