IDGC of North-West receives certificate for operation during autumn and winter period 2009/2010

The company has performed 1612 actions for preparation to autumn and winter period; 61 mobile divisions have been formed; the branches have 89 reserve sources of electricity supply at their disposal; the repair program continues to be implemented

IDGC of North-West is ready to operate during the autumn and winter period 2009/2010. Today the commission, the structure of which included representatives of the Ministry for Energy Industry of the Russian Federation, Rostehnadzor, IDGC Holding, IDGC of North-West, has signed the certificate of preparedness checkup.

The certificate for preparedness for AWP was handed over to IDGC of North-West’s General Director Alexander Kukhmay by Chairman of the commission, chief of the technical audit department of JSC “IDGC Holding” Mikhail Lvov.

The certificate is a result of work of all seven branches which form IDGC of North-West – “Arhenergo”, “Karelenergo”, “Novgorodenergo”, “Pskovenergo”, “Komienergo”, “Kolenergo”, and “Vologdaenergo”.

IDGC of North-West has performed 1612 actions for preparation to the AWP 2009/2010. In conformity with the repair program of the current year (as of October 28th), 22 power transformers of 35-150 kV, almost 3.8 thousand km of overhead lines of 0.4-150 kV have been repaired; 12 thousand hectares have been cleared away for 6-150 kV overhead lines. Expenses for performance of works have totaled RUR 913.9 million. Planned works within the limits of the repair program will be carried out in compliance with the adopted schedules till the end of the year. Total amount to be assigned for repairs of the current year will equal RUR 1.1 billion.

During preparation for operation during the autumn and winter period, 61 mobile divisions have been formed (350 people in total) to ensure interaction between IDGC of North-West’s branches. The mobile brigades have 146 automobiles, load-lifting, tractor, and special equipment at their disposal. Energy specialists have held 18 joint trainings with the Ministry for Emergency Management, Housing and Public Utilities, authorities, subjects of the electric power industry for training interaction when liquidating emergencies.

The number of reserve sources of electricity supply (RSES) available at the IDGC of North-West’s branches has increased to 89. The total capacity of RSES is 37.306 MW.

The objects of reconstruction and new construction which can make material impact on passing the AWP 2009/2010 include “Progress – branch line to Moshenskoe substation” 110 kV overhead line in the Novgorod region. Reconstruction of two substations of 110 kV in the Murmansk region has been implemented. In the near future, they are planed to be put in operation.
