Rosseti North-West

July 29, 2009

Contracting method in IDGC of North-West gives place to the insourcing method. It is expected that according to the results of the current year, the growth of the insourcing method will be 16.2%, as compared to 2006

The growth of the share of the insourcing method must provide reliability of power supply and the quality of executed works at minimization of the operational works.

According to the plan of the repair program for 2009, IDGC of North-West will have the equal amount of insourcing and outsourcing work. The growth of application of the insourcing method is a logical result of execution of the program of efficient cost management in the time of the difficult macroeconomic situation. The insourcing method requires a more efficient employment of workers of production departments and training of new personnel.

The growing rate of the insourcing method in the repair program of IDGC of North-West is from 2007. According to 2006, the rate of the insourcing method grew in 2007 by 2.8%, in 2008, by 9.3%. It is expected that, on the basis of the results of the current year, the growth of the insourcing method will equal 16.2% by 2006.

According to the head of the service of organisation of exploitation of the grid equipment, IDGC of North-West, Vladimir Voiloshnikov (see the photo), it is probable that in the future the company will be doing 60% of all repair works. In particular, the company’s specialists stress the priority of electricity supply and quality of executed works. “It is inadmissible to start insourcing to the prejudice of these two most important criteria”, they say.

Development of the insourcing method does not mean abandon of work with contractors. In each separate case the company analyses the economic efficiency of two ways of execution of work and influence of this method over the reliability of energy supply.

“It is important to understand whether the contracting organisation is able to make a good repair”, stressed Vladimir Voiloshnikov. “That is why we are interested in the experience of work of the companies that take part in contests. We coordinate on this issue not only with our branches, but also with other IDGCs. This aspect is rather important, because for the network companies the reliability of executed works plays the main role”.
