Costs of IDGC of North-West on provision of the category of workers who don’t meet typical industrial standards on free working clothes will be about RUR 8 m.

Since 2009 all employees of IDGC of North-West which carry out testing of electric equipment (one hundred and twenty two in total) will be additionally provided with certificated voltaic arc resistant working clothes, shoes and other kinds of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Costs of the operational company on category of workers who don’t meet typical industrial standards and list of professions provided with free working clothes will be about RUR 8 m.

These standards are fixed in the Uniform Collective Agreement of the company which came into effect in 2009 and will remain valid till 2011.

As the Specialist of the Department for Productive Control of IDGC of North-West Olga Petrovskaya explained, it were the Chiefs of the Subdivisions for Labor Protection and Productive Control of branches of the company who advanced the initiative on inclusion of the workers testing electric equipment into the list of professions to provide them with free working clothes and other kinds of PPE. It took place at the time of preparation of the Uniform Collective Agreement.

A working group including representatives of branches was created at IDGC of North-West under the chairmanship of Roman Yakobson, the Head of the Department for Productive Control. The group considered all offers from the place, checked the list of workers testing electric equipment, and looked into the procedure of distribution of working clothes to the workers which are not included in the industry list.

General Director of IDGC of North-West Alexander Kukhmay signed the Order “On Provision of the Personnel of the Company with Personal Protective Equipment”. On this base, the realization of Statements of the Collective Agreement on additional provision of one hundred and twenty two workers of the company engaged in testing of electric equipment, will be carried out at all branches according to applications from the place.

According to the Order, directors of branches are charged to organize a proper registration of and control over distribution of working clothes, and the technical inspection department and industrial control division of the IDGC of  North-West Executive Office is charged to carry out control over provision of employees with certified special clothes, shoes and other PPE.
