2003 witnessed the Company Telecommunication Service Division to substantially increase its material resources and quality of communication.
Commissioning of new administrative-production complex equipped with high-power hub site able to relocate traffic between two separate signal centers resulted in better reliability of the entire OJSC “Surgutneftegas” telephone system. The new hub site is designed to enter Surgut public network, interconnect the Company automatic telephone stations and provide access to long distance and international communication lines. Now Surgutneftegas has two transit hubs.
Additionally, in 2003 the Company has been actively developing radio-relay system which allowed to implement new quality high-speed and expand current lines for voice and data communication across almost all Surgutneftegas fields. At the same time the Company upgraded “Actionet” radiotelephone network switch-boards and assembled three new basic stations allowing for wider coverage zone and better quality lines.
With its user radio access and “Actionet” the coverage zone stretches for 300 km from the north to the south and 200 km from the west to the east. Installed capacity of the entire telephone network and “Actionet” mobile system totals over 20,000 numbers.
Service base of Telecommunication Service Division includes over 90 satellite phones which are used by subdivisions at remote license areas (mainly by prospective crews and allied suppliers).
Apart from 6.6 km of fiber-optic communication lines (FOCL) currently serviced by the Division in Surgut, the Company is to commission four FOCL circles with total length of 31.1 km. They will integrate Surgutneftegas operations located at Surgut industrial zone and provide communication among primary and secondary computer centers of the Company.
Surgutneftegas will continue its effort to provide reliable communication for the Company subdivisions in 2004.
