Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee met today with Murtaza Rakhimov, President of the Republic of Bashkortostan as part of the visit of Gazprom’s delegation to the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Within the meeting the parties discussed the progress in the implementation of the Agreement of Cooperation signed between Gazprom and the Government of the Republic. Special attention was paid to issues covering further development of Bashkiria’s gasification and gas supplies to consumers in 2009.
Background:
The Agreement of Cooperation and Gasification Completion Accord between Gazprom and the Republic of Bashkortostan were signed on June 19, 2003.
Natural gas penetration in Bashkiria accounts for 79 per cent, including 92.1 per cent in cities and towns, and 61 per cent in the rural area. The identical Russia-averaged parameters make up 58, 64 and 40 per cent respectively.
In 2007 Gazprom supplied 16.8 bcm of gas to the Republic, and roughly the same amount is scheduled for this year.
