Today the Headquarters of Gazprom hosted a meeting chaired by Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee on the Company’s progress in commissioning the major production facilities in 2007.

Attending the meeting were heads of the Company’s Administration core business units, general directors of natural gas production, transportation and engineering subsidiaries of Gazprom, customer companies, startup and commissioning companies, Gazkomplektimpex, Gaznadzor and others.

The participants noted that in 2007 Gazprom had achieved its major goals with regard to commissioning top priority gas production, transportation and underground storage facilities.

In particular, a gas pretreatment plant at the Kharvutinskaya area of the Yamburgskoye field, 84 wells at the Urengoyskoye, Yamburgskoye, En-Yakhinskoye and Orenburgskoye fields, as well as a booster station rated at 80 MW at the Yubileynoye field were commissioned pursuant to the Capital Construction Plan.

In 2007, construction and reconstruction work continued on top priority gas industry facilities, and over 800 km of linear sections of gas pipelines and branches were laid. Gazprom was implementing the following top priority projects: the expansion of Urengoy gas transmission hub, construction of the pipelines Gryazovets – Vyborg, Barnaul – Biysk – Gorno-Altaisk with a branch to Belokurikha, Kasimovskoye UGS – Voskresensk compressor station, pipeline branches to Arkhangelsk and Severodvinsk, etc. In accordance with the Reconstruction Program, the Pripolyarnaya and Kamensk-Shakhtinskaya compressor stations were commissioned, as well as gas pumping units rated at 184 MW were installed at the existing compressor stations.

The participants of the meeting emphasized that in 2007 the reconstruction and development work at underground gas storage facilities was carried out in conformity with the 2007-2010 Program for UGS Development. A compressor station was commissioned at the Kasimovskoye UGS facility and additional gas pumping units rated at 44 MW in aggregate were installed at the Kanchurinsko-Musinskoye UGS facility. 21 gas pumping units were replaced by those with higher efficiency at other underground gas storage facilities.

“Gazprom is currently facing the task to construct and commission the production facilities that will become a basis for the Russian gas industry development in the long run. The Company is entering new strategic gas production regions by implementing large-scale gas transmission projects including the international ones. Systematic work carried out by Gazprom in 2007 lays the cornerstone of the Company’s ambitious plans for the future and guarantees reliable natural gas supplies both to Russian and foreign consumers,” said Alexander Ananenkov.

According to the meeting results, the Company’s core business units and subsidiaries were entrusted with continuing the implementation of the major investment projects of Gazprom in 2008.
