Today the Gazprom Headquarters has hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Alexander Berdnikov, Governor of the Republic of Altai.

The meeting examined the progress with implementing the Agreement of cooperation between Gazprom and the Altai Republic. Special attention was paid to the regional gasification. Due to this, Alexey Miller and Alexander Berdnikov pondered on the issues relevant to construction of the Barnaul-Biysk-Gorno-Altaisk gas main with branch pipeline in Belokurikha. The parties also discussed the need to develop a General Scheme for the Altai Republic gas supply and Gazprom’s participation in engineering and construction of gas distribution networks aimed at synchronizing consumers’ preparation for gas supply with gas main construction deadlines.

The parties arrived at decision to channel additional financing for the regional gasification in the volumes needed to develop the General Scheme for the regional gas supply and construction of local distribution gas pipelines in the town of Gorno-Altaisk and Maima village.

The Agreement of cooperation between Gazprom and the Altai Republic was signed on September 21, 2006. The document stipulates Gazprom’s participation in executing efficient gas supply projects for the population and industrial enterprises of the Republic.

The Biysk-Gorno-Altaisk section of the Barnaul-Biysk-Gorno-Altaisk gas main with branch pipeline in Belokurikha is planned to be commissioned in 2008.

The relevant question is a timely preparation of the Republic’s consumers for gas supply.
