The Gazprom Headquarters has hosted today a regular working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Viktor Vekselberg, Executive Director (Gas Development) of TNK-BP.
The parties addressed the major aspects of the cooperation between the companies when implementing the East Program and creating a gas chemicals compound in eastern Russia.
Reference:
Eastern Russia has 25 per cent of the country’s total initial gas reserves (over 59 tcm), of which on- and offshore resources make up about 45 and 14.5 tcm, respectively.
At the same time, these reserves are characterized by a rather low exploration rate: only 8 and 11.5 per cent in the Siberian and Far East Federal Districts, respectively, with eastern Russia’s offshore explored at about 6 per cent. This points to the high potential of building up new reserves for large-scale gas production in the region. The explored gas reserves are projected to grow some 6.1 tcm by 2030.
