Today, at the Gaz de France Paris based Headquarters, Sergey Ushakov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Jean-Marie Dauger, Acting Chief Operating Officer of Gaz de France have inked an Agreement of cooperation within stuff training and development programs.
According to the Agreement, Gazprom and Gaz de France will contribute to organizing and implementing apprenticeship and internship programs in Russia and France. Apprenticeship programs will be focused on international project management; industrial risks and safety; liquefied natural gas (LNG) production, transportation and regasification; gas industry company economics and management; natural gas production, transmission and storage.
Gazprom and Gaz de France will set up a 50/50 joint working group for the purpose of identifying the content of apprenticeship programs, membership of internee groups and apprenticeship time and venue.
“The long-lasting partnership between Gazprom and Gaz de France in the natural gas supply sector predetermines the close cooperation in a variety of businesses with gas business experience exchange being a priority,” noted Sergey Ushakov at the signing ceremony.
“Gazprom is the largest natural gas supplier to Europe and, undoubtedly, a global gas industry leader. Gaz de France is a leading company in Europe in the natural gas transmission, distribution and marketing sector, as well as in the LNG sector. It is very important for us that our employees have the opportunity to study the richest experience of Gazprom, and we are positive that the experience and know-how of Gaz de France, including in the LNG sector, will also contribute to the successful execution of Gazprom led projects,” emphasized Jean-Marie Dauger, Acting Chief Operating Officer of Gaz de France.

Cooperation between Gazprom and Gaz De France in the gas supply sector had begun in 1975. Since that time Gazprom supplied France with more than 260 bcm of gas, including with more than 13 bcm within 2005.
On June 28, 2003, Gazprom and Gaz de France signed a Memorandum of cooperation deepening.
Cooperation between the companies in the gas supply sector has been traditionally accompanied with the partnership ties in a whole range of joint businesses including staff training and exchange, environmental protection through higher industrial energy efficiency, sponsorship support of sporting and cultural events.
