Rosseti Volga is investing over 680 mln rubles in the reconstruction of the Samara substation

The Samara branch of Rosseti Volga begins the second stage of a major investment project – the reconstruction of the 110 kV Bezymyanka-3 substation in the regional capital. The total estimated cost is over 687 million rubles, planned capital investments in 2021 is 180 million rubles.

The substation, through territorial grid organizations, provides electricity to the Kirovsky district of Samara – 225 thousand residential consumers, social infrastructure facilities, residential complexes under construction, enterprises. A large consumer is the Rossiya chocolate factory (Nestlé Rossiya LLC), one of the leaders in the confectionery industry in the country.

Last year, a substation building was erected, equipment for a 110 kV indoor switchgear was partially assembled, cells and 1 power transformer were installed. In 2021, Rosseti Volga's power engineers will install the second 63 MVA transformer, assemble indoor switchgear equipment, and install arc suppression and current-limiting reactors. After commissioning, it is planned to re-plant 10 and 110 kV cable power lines according to a permanent scheme.

Considering the importance of the substation for the power supply of the largest region of Samara, power engineers are working at the facility without shutting down and limiting the power supply to consumers. For this purpose, a mobile modular 110 kV substation is used, consisting of two modules on semi-trailers, with the possibility of their transportation by road. One of them is equipped with a complete switchgear with a gas-insulated switch 110 kV, as well as a power transformer 110/10 (6) kV. The second one is equipped with a 10 (6) kV switchgear with all the necessary protection and control systems.

In the future, the 110 kV Bezymyanka-3 SS will become a closed-type substation, and the installed capacity of its transformers will increase from 90 to 126 MVA. The safety of the substation and the reliability of power supply to consumers will increase.

Completion of the reconstruction of the power facility is scheduled for 2022.
