The electric energy consumption structure by voltage levels has been changed.
In January of this year, the electric energy consumption in regions of IDGC of North-West activities (Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Murmansk, Novgorod, Pskov regions, Republic of Komi, Republic of Karelia) decreased compared with January of the previous year by 11% and was around 39.1 billion kWh.
According to the information of the Electric Power Transport Department of IDGC of North-West, the maximum power consumption in January 2009 was 7,747 MW that is by 434 MW below than the last year indicator.
Total amounts of electric energy losses in the grids decreased in absolute expression by 2.3 million kWh by January 2008, and were 360 million kWh. However, the relative level of electric energy losses increased by 0.9% and equaled 9.2% in January of this year. The increase in electric energy losses is connected with the electric energy consumption decrease by large industrial consumers, which provide the essential share of regional consumption.
As a whole, the structure of consumption of electric energy by voltage levels is changing. The share of consumption at high voltage levels decreased from 39% in January 2008 to 31% in January 2009, and increased as to low voltage level. The change in the consumption structure considerably does not influence the decrease in electric energy losses, and the relative amount of electric energy losses even grows.
