Complex reconstruction of the substation No.5 is the largest 2009 investment project of “Kolenergo”. Amount of capital investments is about RUR 80 million.
“Kolenergo”, a branch of IDGC of North-West finished complex reconstruction with increase in capacity of 110/35/6 kV central Murmansk substation No.5. Murmansk which suffered from free capacity deficit became able to connect new consumers.
A 40 MVA power transformer has been replaced due to the large-scale reconstruction. Instead of the old one, new equipment has been installed. Thereby the substation’s general capacity has increased by 23 MVA and become equal to 143 MVA.
A complex of building and electric technical works preceded the transformer replacement. Specialists of “KP GEM” LLC which was the management organization uninstalled old equipment, reconstructed oil receiver, replaced a portal of the new transformer, and installed fire seals. Moreover, automatic maintenance of the set capacity level has been put into operation. Before, it used to be carried out if necessary from the dispatch control desk.
According to Head of the Operational Department of “Kolenergo” substations Vladimir Kachalin, a new power transformer has been put for loading and has begun to operate in a working regime today. It allows increase in reliability of electric energy supply of consumers by reduction of loading at neighboring substations. It allows connection of new electric energy consumption objects to grids of “kolenergo” located in the central part of Murmansk as well.
Complex reconstruction of the 110/35/6 kV substation No.5 became the largest investment project of “Kolenergo”, a branch of IDGC of North-West this year. Amount of capital investments was equal to approximately RUR 80 million.
