LUKOIL completes construction of a fueling facility in Sheremetyevo

LUKOIL and the Sheremetyevo International Airport have successfully completed the construction of a new fueling facility with a capacity of up to 1.2 million tonnes per year.

The tank battery, with a nominal volume of 20 thousand cubic meters of jet fuel, is extendable to 25 thousand cubic meters. The project was implemented as part of the Sheremetyevo Airport Development and Modernization Program for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and for the future in general.

The fueling facility, including a system of pipelines with gates at the central ramp of the Sheremetyevo North Terminal Complex, allows for simultaneous refueling of up to 14 jumbo jets. The fueling facility is fitted with a modern automated process-control system. It also has an approach railway, its own laboratory for fuel-quality control and an automatic fire-extinguishing system.

While implementing the project, much attention was paid to environmental safety: the risk of any oil products and contaminated sediments escaping to soil has been completely eliminated.
