September 11, 1997. Boris Nemtsov, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister, is arriving today in the town of Kogalym, Khanty-Mansi autonomous area, where the JSC LUKOIL-Western Siberia headquarters is located.
Mr. Nemtsov and Vagit Alekperov, President of the LUKOIL company, have a schedule for September 12 which comprises participation in a presentation ceremony for the Kogalym Oil Refinery - a manufacturer of motor fuels, visits to oil wells and to a well equipment-repairing team on the Druzhnoye field, and a review of current computer modeling and work to create a database for oil fields.
The Kogalym Oil Refinery, fitted with an automated system made by the Fisher-Rosemount company, has capacity to refine 250,000 tonnes of crude oil a year. Its initial task is to manufacture AI-76 gasoline and its plans also involve the production of AI-93 gasoline, diesel and aircraft fuel and road and construction bitumen in the nearest future. A product pipeline links the refinery to Kogalym airport.
Mr. Nemtsov's program also includes meetings with Kogalym residents and visits to the Church of SS. Peter and Paul, a mosque, an arts school and a sports palace built by LUKOIL for citizens.
