Today, Gazprom’s Headquarters hosted a working meeting of the top executives of the companies – members of the Consortium for Eastern Siberia. Alexey Miller, Gazprom’s Management Committee Chairman, Sergey Bogdanchikov, Rosneft’s President, Vladimir Bogdanov, Surgutneftegaz’s Director General and Vyacheslav Shtyrov, President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) took part in the meeting.
The meeting focused on the work being done to develop the Talakanskoye field (the license for the field is owned by Surgutneftegaz) and on the members’ plans to participate in a tender on the Chayandinskoye field, to be likely announced this year already. The parties also discussed the expediency of constructing gas and oil trunk lines within an integrated channel in eastern Russia.

On 24 January 2004, Gazprom, Rosneft and Surgutneftegaz signed the Consortium Agreement. Under the Agreement, the parties agreed to join their efforts to develop oil and gas fields, elaborate a scheme and establish a united gas supply system of Eastern Siberia and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
