Rostelecom, Russia’s national long-distance telecommunications operator, and Golden Line, Moscow local multi-service operator, provided independent satellite Russian television company NTV-PLUS with the international communications channel to interconnect its Moscow studio and the International Broadcasting Center in Turin.
The organized channel contributes to better coordination of NTV-PLUS staff in both locations and, thus, to continuous and extensive coverage of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games. Thanks to such joint efforts, Russian viewers can get the latest Olympic news and enjoy live broadcast from Turin.
Rostelecom’s General Director Dmitry Yerokhin commented: “Our own extensive network and direct international connections with more than 100 operators in 72 countries enable Rostelecom to implement the projects like this at a high level of quality.”
“Golden Line has vast experience of cooperation in covering major international sports events. We participated in arranging broadcast from the Olympic Games in Athens (2004) and Salt Lake City (2002). Now we hope for viewers’ support to bring success to Russian Olympians in Turin”, the General Director of Golden Line Valery Vasilyev said.
