April 21, 2008, Moscow: «COMSTAR-United TeleSystems (JSC COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the largest operator of integrated telecommunication services in Russia and the CIS was named as the best telecommunications company in Russia in the ranking of the most recognized international financial magazine – Global Finance.

COMSTAR-UTS became the only company of the Russian info-communications market which was put in the annual ranking of Global Finance magazine – “Best Banks and Companies in Russia” for 2008.

Sergey Pridantsev, President of JSC COMSTAR-UTS received the Global Finance magazine award at the solemn ceremony of the best Russian banks and companies awarding, which took place on April 21, 2008, London, in the Royal Automobile Club.

S. Pridantsev commented: «We appreciate the confidence and recognition from the international business community which is clearly reflected in the Global Finance ranking. I’d like to note that this appraisal is fully confirmed by high financial and operating indicators of the group of companies COMSTAR-UTS achieved according to the year 2007 results. 

Within the frame of his working visit to London, President of JSC COMSTAR-UTS will also take part in EEMEA Telecom & Media One-on-One Conference, which takes place on 23-24 April and is held by one of the largest worldwide investment banks Merrill Lynch. The conference will also be attended by the top-managers of Sistema, MTS, RBC, Rambler Media, Hrvatske Telekomunikacije, Millicom, Mobily, Netia, Qtel International, Telecom Egypt, Turkcell, Hurriyet and some other largest companies.
