Buying on Credit

Sales system of KAMAZ Inc. is becoming more diversified. The Company has approved one more program of vehicle acquiring, providing a customer with a choice either to take KAMAZ products on lease, or to purchase them by installments.

Alfia Garifullina, Director of Leasing Department, states that the new sales system and leasing will be quite profitable for customers, as payment in that case is effected by stated installments within an extended period of time.

The Company, in accordance with accepted standards, procedures and methods, is carrying out the program of selling on credit. To secure itself against possible risk, KAMAZ has developed a system of checking up of a customer’s financial solvency, assessment of possible risks and covering risks. To meet demands, KAMAZ in certain cases can even grant an advance to those customers who wish to purchase a KAMAZ truck, but can’t do it on prepayment terms.

KAMAZ supplies its vehicles on credit under the following terms and conditions: credit period is one year, initial installment is 30%. The balance cost of the vehicle should be secured in the form of the liquid pledge provided by the investment bank. But currently this program is not functioning properly under a free market economy. It can only be realized by those enterprises, which have entered a special federal program aimed at delivery of vehicles to military fleets. Such a program is an additional guarantee to a manufacturer that the money will be reimbursed.

Actually, the program began to function in November, when over 100 heavy-duty trucks were delivered to Bashkortastan and Ulianovskaya region. In December it is planned to sell a number of vehicles on credit to Moscow and Moscovskaya region.

Such schemes as leasing and selling on credit have been functioning successfully at western vehicle manufacturing companies since long ago. Today these schemes are applied in Russia too. The aim of our Company is to keep our customers by offering them not only a wide range of vehicles, but also a choice of purchasing schemes to satisfy their demands.
