November 5, 2002

The CHSPZ' Board of Directors approved the company's strategic business plan for 2003-2006

According to the new plan the share of export by 2006 as compared with 2002 increases by 8% and will amount 30% of overall sales volume of 200,000 tonnes. Olga Naumova, CHSPZ' general director, states, "We intend to continue to follow the service oriented strategy and develop mutually beneficial relationships with domestic and foreign clients. In order to do that we plan to work on increasing the quality of service. I mean quality in all respects: offering products which meet customer requirements, offering broad assortment of products, meeting deadlines for shipment and delivery, offering storage and delivery services".

The share of export shipments will increase as a result of a number of large-scale joint projects with foreign partners. It's, for example, the project which involves manufacturing of reinforcing strands of improved quality, which are used in the construction industry in the West. In the future, domestic companies will also use this product instead of wire. This means, that this decision is of strategic importance for CHSPZ in terms of retaining and increasing its domestic market share.

The use of integrated information system BaaN IV will enable to raise the efficiency of interdependent planning of the company's main divisions: sales, manufacturing, procurement and financing. In October 2002, the Managing Sales module of BaaN system was put to place. In 2003-2004 we plan to introduce Managing Purchases, Managing Manufacturing and Managing Finances modules.
