According to Olga Naumova, Cherepovets Steel Rolling Plant's general director, "We shipped 47, 669 tonnes of products. In spite of the seasonal drop in demand, we exceeded summer months' shipments and set a record figure for shipment in the last ten years".
TFrom the beginning of 2002 CHSPZ shipped 414, 234 tonnes of products. This is 0.3 % more than in 2001. A lag behind the last year's figures, caused by a decline in the industry in the first quarter, was compensated for in the summer months, when the demand for hardware increased naturally. Proximity to Severstal, CHSPZ' main suppler of steel, allowed the plant to load its capacities to the full in the situation of shortage of raw materials. As a result, the share of CHSPZ in the volume of products shipped by Prommetiz association members in 2002 increased by 2% as compared with 2001 and amounted to 38%.
CHSPZ plans to ship 87, 000 tonnes of products in November-December.
