A year ago ten regional telecom companies merged into single "UTK" PJSC. "UTK" PJSC consolidated exhibition stand showed the current level of telecommunications development of the Southern Federal District constituting the weighty part of the SFD industrial potential.

Today "UTK" PJSC is one of the seven mega-regional telecom operators operating in the territory of 519 thousand square kilometers. The Company provides telecom services for more than 18.6 million people. Equipped capacity stands at 3.2 million lines, sales revenue approximates 350 million US dollars a year.

"UTK" PJSC renders the major part of such telecom services as data transfer, channel lease, telematic services, intelligent services, Internet access and other advanced services providing for formation of high-performance economy of the Southern Federal District. Overall number of services offered by the Company exceeds 32.

Essential technical and economic potential of the Company makes it possible to solve social tasks in the Southern Federal District such as installation of telephones especially for the invalids of the Great Patriotic War. Increased possibilities of the united entity allowed to install telephones for 1 494 invalids of the Great Patriotic War in 1Q03, a 200%-gain over the plan.

"UTK" PJSC technical policy in the Southern Federal District is based on introduction of new technologies and increase of the share of ISDN, intelligent and Internet services (2.7% - in 2001, 2.9% - in 2002, 3.5% - in 2003).

The Company carried out a lot of work on switching to new technologies and formation of digital network that made possible to provide both traditional and value-added services to the customers including Internet access via switched line, high-speed Internet access via assigned line. High-speed Internet access is provided by DPT-based hub (622 Mbps) and developed access network especially based on ADSL technology (up to 8Mbps). The Company offers also access services via switched line for ISDN subscribers, IP-telephony services, services on creation of corporate virtual private networks (VPN) based on IP MPLS technologies.

The presentation of ADSL technology of high-speed data transmission was successfully held at the exhibition.
