COMSTAR-UTS WiMAX now payable via QIWI

June 16, 2009, Moscow: COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (JSC COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the largest integrated services telecom operator in Russia and the CIS, has provided its users with an option to pay for wireless Internet access using mobile WiMAX technology via QIWI payment terminals operated by a processing center of mobile payment market leader, company United Instant Payment System (ZAO UIPS) (Russ.: OSMP).

WiMAX services are now payable via any of more than 15000 QIWI terminals in Moscow. Users may also pay for wireless Internet access services provided by COMSTAR-UTS outside the Russian capital. Presently, there are more than 87000 QIWI payment terminals installed throughout Russia. An alternative payment option for WiMAX provided by COMSTAR-UTS is Internet payment services, website www.qiwi.ru, and mobile handset with a Java-based program installed, Mobile QIWI. The funds are transferred on-line to the subscriber’s personal account.

“Today, dwellers of the capital more and more frequently use payment terminals to pay for services; this has become a common way to pay for operator service provided. We enable our users to pay for WiMAX as quickly and safely as possible. For example, they can do this on their way to work or home. This is already the second payment system via which our subscribers can pay for wireless mobile access services. Further on, we plan to co-operate with other partners, too, to enhance our capabilities of WiMAX access payment”, – said Sergey Terpugov, Business Manager for Mass Market Operation of JSC COMSTAR-UTS.

For more details about payment via QIWI services, please visit wimax.comstar.ru or website of the payment system, www.qiwi.ru.

WiMAX services are also payable via e-port electronic payment system. Presently, there are about 5000 e-port terminals in Moscow. You can also make a payment via e-port using your mobile handset and Internet service momentalno.ru.
