On October 2, 2001, Renaissance Capital organized a telephone conference with representatives of foreign investment companies from Europe and the US during which the acting general director of AO MOSENERGO Arkady Yevstafiev spoke on the results and prospects of AO MOSENERGO activities.

During nine months of 2001, the company supplied 15 percent more heat as compared to the similar period last year. The electricity generation grew 2.8 percent. The acting general director pointed out that in 2001, AO MOSENERGO fully switched to solely cash settlements with consumers by refusing to participate in barter and compensation schemes. Yevstafiev said that the solution to the debt problem in many aspects depended on the cooperation between AO MOSENERGO, the Moscow government and the administration of the Moscow region. "Our main task is to develop the company and to ensure the quality and uninterrupted supply to consumers," Yevstafyev said.

AO MOSENERGO developed a number of proposals for investors, to take into account the anticipated energy consumption growth in Moscow and Moscow region. The acting head of the company stressed that a priority objective for AO MOSENERGO's management is to observe rights of shareholders.
