“Silky way” of KAMAZ

The agreement on establishing automobile consortium “Kazakhstan-KAMAZ” has been signed today in Astana, in Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The decision about establishing the consortium was taken at the meeting of Intergovernmental commission on cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan. Deputy Minister of Industry and Science of the Russian Federation, Andrey Svinarenko and Minister of Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan, Adilbek Dzhaksybekov were in attendance when the procedure of signing the agreement was held.

Eight various enterprises entered into the consortium, KAMAZ, Inc. and ASTANA-FINANCE inclusive. Both the companies are supposed to acquire a 20% share in the authorized capital of the consortium. The remaining six companies, “Engineering Plant of Semipalatinsk” and “Engine Maintenance and Overhaul Plant in Kostanai” being among them, are to acquire a 10% share. Metallurgical companies of Kazakhstan and “Auto center “KAMAZ” in Akmol” have entered into the consortium as well.

The main objectives set by the parties of the consortium are as follows:
- development of assembly works of vehicles and special-purpose vehicles on chassis “KAMAZ”;
- organization of assembly works of wheeled tractors using KAMAZ units and sets on the territory of Kazakhstan;
- developing new financial instruments for promoting KAMAZ vehicles on the market of Kazakhstan, leasing inclusive;
- development of maintenance of the whole KAMAZ automobile fleet registered in Kazakhstan and establishing service centers as well.

The parties of the consortium are legally and economically independent.
