New appointments at Kamensk-Uralsky Metallurgical (KUMZ)

Moscow, 7 July 2003: Recently appointed Mr Alexei Shkolnikov, General Director of Kamensk-Uralsky Metallurgical Works (KUMZ), has created a new organisational structure for KUMZ, with some associated new appointments.

Alex Tattersall is appointed Commercial Director, with responsibility for KUMZ’s worldwide sales & marketing. Vladimir Chertovikov will oversee both technical development and investment planning as Technical Director. Konstantin Ivanov is named Financial Director.

These new management team appointments at KUMZ bring together a wealth of relevant expertise to the respective functional areas. The new team also has extensive experience in the aluminium downstream business, both in Russia and internationally.

Mr. Shkolnikov said: “I am confident that our new management team is well equipped to achieve the challenging goals which SUAL has set for KUMZ, to further enhance customer satisfaction, boost output and broaden its range of products.”

Within the SUAL group of companies, KUMZ is the largest “downstream” plant, encompassing a wide array of aluminium semi-finished products, including flat rolled sheet and plate, extrusions, forgings, and car/truck wheels. KUMZ is a significant and versatile producer of more than 70,000 types of aluminium products and some 80 grades of aluminium-based and magnesium-based alloys. The plant is located in Sverdlovsk region, Siberia, Russia.
