Moscow. 9 June 2005. The number of participants of the e-trading system used by the enterprises of RAO "UES of Russia", B2B-energo, is now in excess of 3,000. Among them are the major vendors of equipment and technologies for the electricity industry, such as OAO "Power Machines", OAO "ENERGOMASH", ZAO "Krasny Kotelshchik", FGUP "Technopromexport", and OOO "Siemens". Today, enterprises and organizations from 23 countries of the world are active on the trading floor.
The overall trading volume in the B2B-energo has exceeded RUB13 billion since the system's launch. Over the period, over 2400 auctions and tenders have been announced on the marketplace, and over 8000 requests for quotations and bids have been made. Currently, 347 public tenders are held in B2B-energo in a real time mode.
The use of the B2B-energo e-trading system enables RAO UES enterprises to achieve considerable production savings and reduce the cost of procured goods, services and technologies. According to expert estimates, the savings from the use of the B2B-energo system only by RAO UES enterprises may exceed RUB11 billion in the next three years.
RAO "UES of Russia" Holding Company is one of the major buyers of goods, works and technologies in the country, with the value of procurements in excess of RUB300 billion annually.
The system for competitive procurement of goods, works, and services has existed at RAO "UES of Russia" since 1999. The system is intended to improve the manageability of cash flows, enhance transparency of spending, and reduce energy companies' expenses.
Since the inception in 2002 of the Information and Trading System "Market for Products, Services and Technologies for the Electricity Industry "B2B-energo", enterprises of RAO "UES of Russia" started to use e-trading in their procurement activities. In 2005, RAO "UES of Russia" enterprises plan to make at least 50% of their competitive procurement using e-commerce systems.
