Moscow. July 7, 2006. Saint Petersburg hosted the first meeting of the EU-Russia Business Cooperation Council co-chaired by RAO "UES of Russia" CEO Anatoly Chubais and Stora Enso CEO Jukka Harmala.
The EU-Russia Business Cooperation Council was established on the basis of concerted decision taken by the general meeting of EU-Russia Industrialists’ Round Table*on 3 October 2005 in London.
The meeting of the Council was attended by leaders in the Russian and EU business community, who discussed the prospects for mutual convergence based on expansion of trade and investment, as well as on business interpenetration and partnership.
The meeting approved the Mission Statement. This document, among other things, sets out the mission, priority tasks, and major areas of activities of the EU-Russia Business Cooperation Council.
