The first interregional grid control centre starts operating in Kursk

The opening ceremony was attended by Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Pavel Livinskiy, Rosseti's Director General, Roman Starovoit, Governor of the Kursk Region, and Igor Makovskiy, Head of Rosseti Centre and Interregional Distribution Grid Company of Center and Volga Region.

Now, the service area of the new Grid Control Centre includes power grid facilities of the Kursk Region. In prospect, it will also control power grid facilities of the Oryol Region. More than 1.8 million people live in these two regions. The peak demand is over 1 GW, which is comparable to the power unit capacity of an advanced nuclear power plant. The Centre's service area may be expanded to other regions of the Central Federal District and other voltage types.

The main feature of the Centre is powered by CK-11, the Russian operative-information complex processing over 75,000 signals per second. The system operator remotely controls the switching devices of the power facilities instantly receiving information on any violations. Operational communication with 100% teams is ensured.

An electronic log where all significant events are automatically recorded is an important auxiliary tool. Geographic Information System (GIS) and a meteorological portal are also available for the specialists' convenience. In case a signal on fire alarm actuation at any facility is received, additional information can be obtained using a technical security video surveillance system.

All interaction with consumers is provided by the Contact Center (facilities are located in Belgorod and Ivanovo). Continuous communication is supported by 110 operators (if necessary, their number can be increased up to 600). All calls are registered in the system, so that the operator can arrange emergency response and remedial actions in the shortest time possible.

"State-of-the-art software products provide dispatchers with a full range of tools for monitoring and controlling the power grid status, routine switching and managing work of the teams to quickly eliminate violations. The implemented Russian solutions not only meet current requirements, but also surpass the best world alternatives in functionality. Notably, the highest level of information security is guaranteed", emphasized Pavel Livinskiy.
