North-West Telecom invites journalists of the North-West to take part in the Transparent Line Awards for the best coverage of the subject of telecommunications in mass media. The competition is held by the All-Russian public organization of mass media workers MediaSoyuz and  the RF Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications  with the support of companies of the Svyazinvest group,  Systema-Telecom and TransTeleCom.

Journalists working in mass media and free-lance contributors working in the Russian Federation may take part in the competition.

Interviews, reports, commentaries, essays, articles and other materials published in the press, broadcast and telecast in the period from 1st January 2005 till 15th February 2006 are accepted for the competition. Materials of central, regional and industrial (IT and telecommunications) mass media may participate in the competition.  

The jury of the competition includes famous journalists, who are experts in the field of telecommunications, and other specialists. The jury is chaired by Leonid Reiman, the RF Minister of Information Technologies and Communications , and co-chaired by Alexandr Lyubimov, President of MediaSoyuz.

Prizes will be awarded to participants of the competition in five nominations:

 - Television

 - Radio

 - Printed mass media (social and political, and business)

 - Internet mass media

 - Specialized mass media

The most active participant of the competition will be awarded a special prize For Loyalty to the Subject.

Materials of the competition are accepted by the organizing committee till 15th February 2006.
