IDGC of the North-West, JSC summarized the winter peak results and approved actions for preparation to the autumn/winter season 2012/2013. An order to the effect was signed by Sergey Titov, General Director of the Company. As he explained, to ensure reliable uninterrupted operation and development of IDGC of the North-West distributing networks is of high priority to the Company.
Analyzing preparation and operation in the 2011/2012 autumn/winter season, IDGC of the North-West officials noted that all 2127 actions planned were carried out in proper time. The last autumn/winter period was characterized by long-term unfavorable weather almost in all IDGC of the North-West territories; special operating regimes were introduced.
Equipment and materials applied to carry out remedial actions in the 2011/2012 autumn/winter season amount to 67.8 mln rubles. Emergency stock used was timely rebuilt to the established standards. The Company organized 36 mobile teams equipped with 117 units of machinery and ready to spring into action.
According to order of IDGC of the North-West General Director, the Company must ensure preparedness of electrical networks owned by branches for operation in the 2012/2013 autumn/winter season and receipt of preparedness certificate by November 15th. The Company developed a plan to take actions required. Particularly, to minimize the risk of tree falling into transmission lines, it is planned to expand 456 ha of overhead line corridors in this year. In the current year, the repair program of the Company is funded in the amount of 1.57 bln rubles. It is planned to repair 1967 km of transmission lines 35-220 kV and 6673 km of overhead lines 0.4-20 kV, to clear 7288 ha of 35-220 kV routes and 6069 ha of 0.4-20 kV routes. To minimize the expenditures and increase the physical volume of works, IDGC of the North-West carries out 61% of the current year repairs program using the Company's own resources.
Preparedness for the autumn/winter season will be assessed: in the Company operating departments by branch commissions, in branches by IDGC of the North-West commissions, in the Company as a whole – by the State Commission of the RF Ministry of Energy.
