Orenburenergo branch production office became the Laureate of the Iinternational competition

Tsentralny (Central) Production Office of the Orenburgenergo branch of Rosseti Volga (a brand of IDGC of Volga, PJSC) was recognized as the laureate of the International Competition of Scientific, Technical and Innovative Developments aimed at the development of the fuel and energy and extractive industries.

The competition jury was presented the work “Converting Equipment to Repair Position Using a Digital Auxiliary Device”. The developed project was awarded a diploma of the laureate of the third prize of the competition.

Authors of the work are specialists of the Central PO of the Orenburgenergo branch: Nikolay Zakharchenko, Head of the Relay Protection and Automation Service, Dmitry Kovalenko, Head of the Laboratory of the Relay Protection and Automation Service, Kirill Manannikov, Engineer of the Relay Protection and Automation Service.

“The purpose of the development is to eliminate the erroneous actions of operational personnel during the input/output of equipment for repair,” said Dmitry Kovalenko. “We suggest using a device, a program logistic controller (PLC), to monitor personnel actions during repairs in electrical installations.”

Power engineers believe that the practical use of such controllers will increase the work safety, reduce the electrical injuries of personnel when working in electrical installations, the lack of electrical energy, and the risk of damage to equipment.

“We suggest installing such devices in substations where a large number of switching operations are carried out,” said Nikolay Zakharchenko. “We also plan to bring the offer to the level of equipment suppliers. The installation of such a device at the stage of production of equipment will significantly optimize the costs of implementing our development.”

The international competition is held annually sponsored by the Ministry of Energy of Russia as part of the innovative development of the fuel and energy and mining industries and the development of human resources. This year 196 projects from 86 enterprises of Russia were submitted to the competition. The work was evaluated by a jury, which included senior experts from the fuel and energy complex.
