Employee of IDGC of Volga, JSC is among graduates of Skolkovo Moscow School of Management

Second integrated program “Leaders of Change”, a joint educational project of OAO Rosseti and Skolkovo Moscow School of Management aimed at mastering the managerial skills of power company employees, which started in February, 2013, has recently completed. The program involved 46 participants selected on a competitive basis, all of them are employees of Russian power grid companies. Aleksey Milaushkin, the Head of the Emergency Control Section of the Department for Operational and Technological Management of IDGC of Volga, JSC (subsidiary of OAO Rosseti) is among them. The participants attended part-time classes structured into cycles: each month they gathered in Skolkovo located near Moscow to attend intensive lectures during a week, analyze the state of Russian power supply industry and work out the projects related to the strategic development of the industry under supervision of their mentors. Education program involved leading Russian and foreign experts and professors of Skolkovo Moscow School of Management who told their students about modern theories and best practices being used to manage power companies. In early April the international part of the project took place: the training cycle was held in Berlin, Germany. Young power engineers stayed there for a week to attend lectures of European experts during which German colleagues shared their experience and knowledge of efficient management of power companies. In July, the participants of the Second Integrated Program were examined on their projects and awarded the graduation certificates. Skolkovo graduates presented their papers dedicated to the network and business development strategies, consumer relations, creating the power grid market, new models of construction under the present-day conditions of power grid complex development, as well as to the making of the investment activity concept. Aleksey Milaushkin took part in the development and defense of the project titled “Adaptive development of network planning”. The project was focused on changing the long-term planning procedure. In contrast to the present-day techniques where the development of power grids is being planned “from the top downward” that is from the master plan of power facilities arrangement towards the plans and programs of development of power industry in regions, this particular project suggests developing planning systems “from the bottom upward” that means planning from the requests for technological connections towards the plan and program of development of the Unified Energy System of Russia. “Such planning technique will enable us to reduce time of technological connection of power consumers and minimize the risks of constructing the non-demanded power grid facilities”, say authors of the project.
