New Leader of Russian Roads

KamAZ-54115 became the first among the fifth-wheel tractor trucks in Russia as it has the highest sales volume.

According to the results of the first 6 months of this year, KAMAZ has distributed 961 units of this modification. KAMAZ has left MAZ truck, which has been a leader of the previous years, and Swedish “Volvo” far behind, having retailed 151 and 227 units more accordingly. Since the start of this year production volumes have been doubled and now KamAZ-54115 with its 10% from the total KAMAZ output is among the three best sold trucks of the plant, i.e. KamAZ 55111- dump truck and KamAZ 43114 all-wheel drive. The best result of this truck at the domestic market was in 2002, when there were marketed 1,406 units. And 1,5 months ago the plant has beaten this figure.

Note: KamAZ-54115 fifth-wheel tractor truck has 6x4 wheel arrangement, 12t load on the fifth-wheel device, and 34,2t gross train weight (with a semi-trailer). It is produced in two main modifications – a turbocharged 240 h.p Euro-1 engines with max. 85 kgs*m torque (KamAZ-740.11-260) and 260 h.p, max. 95 kgs*m torque (KamAZ-740.13-260). Serial production of the “13th” engine ensured it with an easy market: 78% of all KAMAZ customers now prefer to equip their KamAZ truck with this type engine.

The “13th” engine is certified in accordance with UN ECE 24.03, 40.02? and 85.00 and meets European standards. It came to change 7403.10 engine (Euro-0) which is not produced any longer. Introduction of a number of innovations has increased the engine’s life up to 500 000 km and made it possible to fit various types of power drive. It is also ensuring significant reduction of oil loss and engine noise, its preventive maintenance period has increased up to 16, 000 km.
