Specialists of Mordovenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), are actively engaged in the repair program. As scheduled, in September this year they will complete repair operations at two 110/10 kV substations. Repair operations will be also conducted at 69 transformer substations (10/0.4 kV), 5 power substations (10/0.4 kV) and on 35–110 kV overhead transmission lines with the total length of 85.78 km.

The works will also include replacement of 28.97 km of 0.4-10 kV non-insulated bushings with insulated wire at transformer substations of Mordovian settlements for OHL with shielded wires — a solution aimed to improve operational reliability and reduce unplanned outages.

Operations relating to clearing of routes in forest areas are being actively carried out. Power engineers plan to cover an area over 45.3 ha by the end of September. Teams are operating at 110 kV power transmission line Saranskaya-Radiocenter, 110 kV power transmission line Sosnovka-Potma, 35 kV power transmission line Insar-S. Pyatina, 35 kV power transmission line Dyurki-Alovo, 35 kV power transmission line Kozlovka-Kalasevo.Employees performing clearing of power line corridors from vegetation are equipped with all necessary tools and appliances, from handheld bush cutting machines and chainsaws to special-purpose vehicles including forestry mulchers ensuring vegetation clearing with complete slash disposal. Such special-purpose vehicles are employed at all production departments of Mordovenergo branch. Their application ensure considerable time and cost saving due to increased processing rates and reduced manpower needs.

Measures of the repair campaign are a necessary part of preparation of electric equipment and power facilities for the 2017/2018 peak load autumn-winter period.
