Today at Gazprom’s Headquarters Alexey Miller, Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee and Vladimir Masorin, Commander-in-Chief of the RF Navy have inked an Agreement on cooperation.
Under the Agreement the parties will promote cooperation in the following key areas:
- using vessels of the Navy’s auxiliary fleet, ship-building and ship-repairing plants as well as onshore territory, facilities and infrastructure for the support of Gazprom;
- performing navigational & hydrographic, hydrometeorological and other survey for Gazprom’s needs with the help of the Navy’s research institutions and hydrographic vessels;
- creating a comprehensive safety & security system for hydrocarbon extraction and marine transportation, including a search-and-rescue system;
- devising schemes of joint transportation support (including marine, aerial and other backing);
- promoting interaction when constructing gas and other hydrocarbon processing and transmission infrastructure as well as while developing transmission facilities;
- promoting interaction when designing and erecting the Shtokman gas condensate field’s supporting infrastructure and an LNG plant;
- promoting interaction when implementing the North-European gas pipeline project.
Additionally Alexey Miller and Vladimir Masorin signed a Plan of Gazprom and the RF Navy’s joint activities over 2006 in exploiting energy resources of the RF offshore and enhancing the offshore infrastructure safety.
“Cooperation between Gazprom and the Navy will foster the pressurized & liquefied gas production and transmission, hydrocarbon field development and offshore pipeline construction,” stated Alexey Miller.
“Our rich experience, unique technologies and technical capabilities will make the construction and operation of offshore oil and gas facilities safer and securer,” said Vladimir Masorin.
