Perm, 17.12.2007. Back pressure turbine R-50 was put into operation after the reconstruction at Perm HPP-14 (TGC-9 Branch). After completion of the second stage of reconstruction – the introduction of T-35/55 turbine – the operating capacity will increase by 85MWt.
Perm HPP-14 provides the residents and enterprises of Kirovsky District of Perm with heat and electricity. The necessity of the power station capacity increase was caused by constantly growing load on HPP equipment, as well as by the energy shortage of Perm-Zakamsk energy node.
Within the first stage of the project executed by TGC-9 at Perm HPP-14, there was performed the reconstruction of back-pressure turbine R-50. The second stage will include the mounting of the new turbine T-35/55-1,6. After the second stag is completed both turbines will operate in pair.
Over 10 years ago several industrial enterprises of Zakamsk industrial node stopped the consumption of heat energy (excess steam of R-50 turbine, without utilization of which the operation of the turbine is inefficient.) Due to lack of heat consumers R-50 turbine was idle. Within the investment project this problem will be solved: the new turbine T-35/55 will use the steam after the reconstructed R-50 turbine in its operation.
It is planned to put into operation the new turbine T-35/55-1,6 with nominal capacity of 35MWt at HPP in the end of the second quarter of 2008. The new turbine will be installed instead and on the place of the old, which has been in operation for more than 40 years. In spring 2007 it was stopped and dismounted. As of today the works on construction of foundation have been completed. The new equipment is being mounted.
Until the new turbine is put into operation R-50 turbine will increase the reliability of electricity production at HPP-14, and the excess steam of R-50 turbine will be used during the peak mode to support the parameters of heat networks of consumers of Perm Kirovsky District.
The project to use the back-pressure turbine earlier being idle is the second experience in the Urals. Earlier the similar introduction was implemented in January 2007 at Chaikovsky HPP-18 (TGC-9 Branch).
Such technological solution provides the essential growth of capacity of the power station, improves flexibility and maneuverability of HPP-14 equipment, allows to optimize the load of generating equipment and to increase the reliability of power savings of consumers.
The reconstructed R-50 will be controlled on the basis of automatic control systems for microprocessor technology. The system allows the monitoring of equipment in complex. The operator can start any equipment at turbo unit from his computer, including the change of electrical load of the turbine and the temperature of heat carrier.
Automatic control system is very reliable and easy in operation. In TGC-9 at Perm Territory Perm HPP-14 is the forth station where such system will be applied. For the first time automated control system was applied for control of turbo-unit at Berezniky HPP-2 in December 2005, for the second – at Zakamsk HPP-5 in March 2006, the third was introduced in January 2007 at Chaikovsk HPP-18.
Open Joint Stock Company “Territorial Generating Company ?9” was registered on December, 9 2004 and started operational activity on April, 1 2005.
The company includes 23 power stations, 35 boiler shops and 4 heat networks factories located at Perm Territory, Sverdlovsk Region and the Republic of Komi. The installed generating capacity of the company is 3280 MWt, heat capacity - 18952 Gk/h. The staff accounts over 11 thousand people. The General Director of OJSC “TGC-9” is Andrey Yu.Makarov.
The formation of target structure of the Company passed in two stages.
