Moscow, 26 February 2004. RAO "UES of Russia" has commissioned the combined-cycle gas turbine of 220 MW into service at Tyumenskaya CHPP-1. The commissioning ceremony has been attended by the Chairman of the Management Board of RAO "UES of Russia" Anatoly Chubais, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President to the Urals Federal Okrug Petr Latyshev and Tyumen Region Governor Sergey Sobyanin.
CCGT-220 of Tyumenskaya CHPP-1 is the second large combined-cycle turbine unit is Russia, after North-West CHPP in St.-Petersburg. The CCGT comprises a steam turbine produced at Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (LMZ), boiler manufactured at Taganrog Boiler Plant, and gas turbine made by Siemens.
CCGT-220 significantly outperforms the steam power units currently in operation. In particular, the fuel consumption for electricity generation at Tyumenskaya CHPP-1 will be reduced by 12%, and the NOx emissions decrease 2.5-3 times. The efficiency of the combined-cycle gas turbine is 85.4%.
The investments in the modernization of Tyumenskaya CHPP-1 and installation of CCGT-220 totalled RUB 3.4 billion.
The commissioning of the new generating unit into service will help reduce the fuel consumption required to produce heat and electricity, increase reliability of electricity and heat supply to consumers in the city of Tyumen, and stabilize the tariffs in Tyumen Region.
