The Regional Policy Commission of Gazprom has convened on its regular meeting moderated by Valery Golubev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Head of the Commission.
The Commission heard reports and discussed measures on how to increase ecological safety in the regions of the Company’s presence and mitigate environmental impacts of technology in the areas of intensive gas production.
In particular, a strong emphasis was placed on the need of strictly complying with all of the environmental regulations while developing the Yamal Peninsula based Bovanenkovo field.
The Regional Policy Commission recommended that Gazprom core business units and subsidiaries provide for actions aimed at reducing technology risks at gas production facilities and ensure control over their implementation when engineering, developing and operating fields on the Yamal Peninsula.
The meeting also summed up the Commission’s operating results for 2007 and approved a plan of activities for 2008.
