Severstal Doubled Sales to Severstallat in 2000-2002

This was stated by Severstal’s sales director in lieu of the ten year anniversary of Severstallat. Today Severstallat is one of the largest steel trading companies in the Baltic countries with sales volumes reaching 75,000 tonnes in 2001. For seven years Severstal has been Severstallat’s main supplier. Today the Metal Service Center of Severstallat includes the distribution center, the metallotechnology park, the fittings service center and the service center for metal processing.

Severstallat managers have decided what Severstallat’s future plans would be. In 2002, it intends to mount a European quality pipe making line for the production of pipes for furniture industry (Ikea), automotive and construction industries. It aspires to develop and strengthen long term relationships with ABB, KNAUF and Helver. It also plans to make stamped components of electric-arc furnace steel for Phillips and Electrolux.

Severstallat is a Russian-Latvian joint venture. It opened in 1992 to offer railroad transportation services to Severstal and arrange sea transportation through ports of Baltic states.
