The Federal Antitrust Service (former Ministry of Antitrust Policy) issued its report allowing the application for affiliated with OJSC Lensviaz and OJSC Sviaz of the Republic of Komi by OJSC North-West Telecom subject to compliance with the requirements of the Instruction mentioned in the report.  According to N. G. Bredkov, Deputy General Manager & Corporate Governance Manager, OJSC North-West Telecom, «the Instruction is of a rather neutral attitude and does not require any preliminary actions of a restructuring nature from the companies. Therefore, the Company has met all the requirements of the antitrust laws for restructuring, and we confirm our plans to finalize the legal documenting of the affiliating by October 1, 2004».
