In 2001, the share of UAZ export sales has gone up five times and amounted to 8.5% of overall sales. Over five months of 2002 export sales were 80% higher as compared with the like period of last year. Exports sales were that high for the first time in many years.
   UAZ marketing and sales department is pursuing new markets and is in the process of revitalizing sales relationships with countries, which discontinued to buy UAZ products when the plant was in severe crisis at the end of 90-s. Angola was one of 36 African countries, which purchased UAZ off-road vehicles in as early as 1956. In the 1^st quarter of 2002, UAZ resumed sales of large batches of modernized UAZ 315123 cars to this country. Several days ago a group of UAZ employees returned from Africa, where they traveled to provide technical assistance and post-purchase service. Although the post-purchase service was provided on tight schedule, UAZ employees had noticed that individual consumers from various Angola provinces who visited the plant's representatives had great interest in UAZ cars. UAZ vehicles equipped with Andoria engines performed extremely well in the severe climate of Angola and won consumer praise. Another batch of UAZ 315123 vehicles is soon to be shipped to Angola.
   UAZ off-road vehicles are also in demand by consumers in Latin American and Eastern European countries. These parts of the world are attractive markets for UAZ 3160.
