Rostelecom has appointed JPMorgan successor depositary

Rostelecom has appointed JPMorgan successor depositary for its Level II American Depositary Receipt (ADR) program

 

Rostelecom is Russia’s largest fixed-line telecommunications operator. It owns and operates an up-to-date digital trunk network across the country. Outside of Moscow, Rostelecom acts as a carriers’ carrier interconnecting all local public operators’ networks into a unified transnational network. In Moscow, Rostelecom provides domestic long-distance (DLD) and international (ILD) services to end-users through the last-mile infrastructure of a local provider and bills customers directly. Rostelecom is the only Russian operator licensed to carry international traffic, both outgoing and incoming. The Company participates in 28 international cable systems and deals with 295 international operators.

For the fiscal year ended December 31, 2001, Rostelecom’s consolidated revenues were $837.5 million and net profit was $132.4 million.

Government-controlled holding company Svyazinvest owns 38% (51% of voting stock) in Rostelecom. The free-float includes 49% of the common shares and 100% of the preferred shares. Level II ADR program on common shares is listed on NYSE (ticker: ROS). Each Rostelecom ADR (CUSIP 778529107) represents 6 ordinary shares traded on the Russian Trading System. Rostelecom ADRs are also traded on major European stock exchanges, including London and Frankfurt Stock Exchanges.
